Whistler Records
Our in-house record label stands out as a unique example of an evolved relationship between music venue and artist. Beyond just providing a stage to perform on, we've taken the relationship a step further by providing many of our favorite local artists with the means of producing, distributing, and promoting their music—and much like our live music programming, Whistler Records' catalog features an eclectic mix of everything from rock and pop to jazz and hip-hop.
The Notes and Scratches' raspy, country pop sounds a lot like Broken Social Scene channeling Tom Waits. It's some raucous, glorious stuff. The melodies are tight and the arrangements are about as messy as can be, featuring instruments you might find in a Gypsy pawn shop. RIP Notes & Scratches.
